The Two Wolves

"Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." (Philippians 4:8, NLT)

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a debate that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all.

"One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

"The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed the most.”

In the computer world they talk about GIGO – garbage in and garbage out. The same is true of our minds. So make sure you are feeding on good things today.

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. (Joshua 1:8, NLT)

Evil is Doomed

Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons.(Matthew 25:41, NLT)

Evil is finally going to be destroyed. Satan may seem powerful and irresistible. We may sense him going around as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour but he is on the losing side. The Word of God tells us that he is going to be cast into the lake of fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

All that is negative, sinful, destructive and in rebellion against God will be destroyed. Our God is going to establish a new Heaven and a new earth that is filled with righteousness. The final outcome is sure, skip to the end of this book and you’ll see – our side wins. The good guys come out on top. We are going to reign with Him forever and ever. One day every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the father.
