I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. (John 11:25, NKJV)
Robert Ingersoll, a 19th century American politician and atheist said, “The universe is all the God there is.” Ingersoll lectured widely about his belief that God did not exist. Yet Ingersoll is gone and God is still there. Bertrand Russell, a British philosopher and social critic, proclaimed , “My own view on religion is that it is a disease born of fear and is a source of untold misery to the human race.” Russell has stepped into eternity and is no doubt rethinking his view.
Christopher Hitchens, author of "God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything", was considered one of the most prominent figures in the “new atheism” movement. He died recently of esophageal cancer, now he knows the truth. His intellectual brilliance and eloquence are of little consequence at this time.
It was Benjamin Franklin who said, “In this world nothing is certain but death and taxes.” The Bible message is clear – we must all die and we must all face the judgement of God whether we believe in Him or not.
