The Name

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, (Philippians 2:10, NLT)

Despite questions about his motives and his ambitions there is no doubt that Napoleon was a great leader. He is reported to have said, “I know men; and I tell you that Jesus Christ is no mere man. Between Him and every other person in the world there is no possible term of comparison. Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne and I have founded empires. But on what did we rest the creations of our genius? Upon force. Jesus Christ founded His empire upon love; at this hour millions of men would die for Him.”

The name of Jesus is a powerful name that has motivated millions to worship, to serve and to pray. At His name demons flee and angels rejoice. Let us never be ashamed of it. Let us boldly proclaim it.

"God’s name is a place of protection— good people can run there and be safe. " (Proverbs 18:10, The Message)
